Using the F&P 950™ Humidifier with NIV

Patient tolerance is important to the success of respiratory therapy.1  Different patients may tolerate various levels of humidity.


The F&P 950 Humidifier comes with three patient outlet temperatures to suit the varying comfort and tolerance preferences of your patients.

  • 31 °C 
  • 29 °C 
  • 27 °C 

By compensating for the drying effects of ventilation gases, humidity may help with patient tolerance which may increase NIV efficacy.1

The American Association for Respiratory Care (AARC) Clinical Practice Guidelines (2012) recommends:

  • Active humidification is suggested for NIV as it may improve adherence and comfort.
  • Passive humidification (HME) is not recommended for noninvasive ventilation.2
